and then along came Sony
The good news: At the core of the new mylo 2 is Linux. The mylo 2 has an 800×480 display screen like the Nokia n800. It has a retractable hardware thumb board like the n810. It has a gig of RAM. The n800 and n810 only have 128MB of physical RAM, plus up to 128MB of “virtual RAM.”
The bad news: Sony doesn’t seem to “get” Linux.
Apple’s Darwin project is relatively open.
Sony should take a look at the Maemo community website, which is sponsored by Nokia. Maemo’s open projects are what I like most about owning an n800.
